Lotus The fabulously successful Formula Junior Lotus has its Ford 105E engine mounted behind the driver. The chassis is a true "space frame" and all four wheels are sprung independently with coil springs. The Lotus has so far proved invincible on fast and slow circuits alike. The works cars have probably won more races in a shorter space of time than any other racing car.
Gemini The latest rear engined Gemini is a new design, and a promising one. It was only completed towards the end of the season (1960), but displayed speed and road holding of a very high order. Like all successful Formula Junior cars it has a light weight space frame, independent suspension, and a tuned and modified Ford 105E engine.
Lola The Lola is unusual amongst Formula Junior cars in having its engine front-mounted. The engine is offset so that the propeller shaft passes beside the driver. The rear axle drive shafts are therefpore of unequal length, but ingenious design has overcome any apparent difficulties. The Lola was probably 1960's most successful front-engined racer.
