NORTH MIDLANDS GROUP

.... one John Colyer, wrote and offered his services. Unfortunately due to lack of support and other factors, the club did not get off the ground.

Renewed interest was stirred again in April 1981. With so many owners clubs being set up at this time, it was not long before someone suggested a club for the 105E Enthusiasts. This happened in November 1981 when Paul Guinness wrote to "Practical Classics" saying he was hoping to form a club for the Ford Anglia.

In December 1981, the Ford 105E Owners Club was founded.

With the help of both members and officials, the club went from strength to strength. Membership numbers climbed and the benefits available to those members increased. The club became recognised as a motor club by the Ford Motor Company Ltd, the Royal Automobile Club (MSA) Ltd and the Automobile Association.

In January 1993 the club changed its name to the Ford Anglia 105E Owners Club.

It still provides the same service to its members, and despite the car getting older, it is getting a whole new set of fans. Where membership to most owners clubs is waning, the Ford Anglia 105E Owners Club is managing to keep an enthusiastic 900 + members going and has local area groups all around the UK.

The North Midlands Group

The Origins of the North Midlands Group goes back 10 years (yes, its our 10th Anniversary next year), when this letter appeared in the July / August 1997 Anglebox Magazine.

Ken, Kalene, Darren and Ian started what has now become (admittedly a small) but dedicated group of Anglia Enthusiasts. People and time move on, but we still have one of the founding fathers attending our events. Darren has been at the heart of the North Midlands Group for 10 years, and hopefully, he's not bored with us just yet.
