Panama Cigars Advert

Not really a movie, but an Advert promoting Panama Slim Panatella Cigars. This iconic advert shows a man adding wide wheels to his Ford Anglia and then trying to drive it through a narrow gateway.

Through the mists of time, most people believe this advert was for Hamlet Cigars as the advert had a similar theme to those from Benson and Hedges.

In 1980 Steve Watts, a boatbuilder by trade, was asked to build 3 Full Size Ford Anglia Cars for a TV Commercial ("Carlos Fandago" for Panama Cigars). This required similar skills and an acute attention to detail, both well developed in boatbuilding. Working with a very tight work deadline, Steve’s Creativity, and Ingenuity were stretched almost to the limit, but, after two hard weeks the cars were built, the customer was speechless, Steve’s job satisfaction was sky high, and so, Creative Modelmaking was established
