Ring of Bright Water - 1969 Based on the best selling
book by Gavin Maxwell, "Ring Of Bright
Water" reunited off-screen husband and
wife team, Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna,
three years after they had starred alongside each
other in the movie smash "Born Free".
However, the real star of the film is Mij the
otter, who endured himself to a generation of
film fans. Graham Merrill (Travers) buys an otter
from a London pet shop and decides to leave the
hustle and bustle of the city for the tranquil
beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Soon he and Mij
become the best of friends and together they
explore the natural wonders that surround them.
When Graham meets and falls in love with the
beautiful village doctor Mary (McKenna) the three
become inseparable but when Miji's food source is
threatened, so is their idyllic lifestyle.
